Absolutely love your posts. The last series on reading, the bookshelf, should be made into a poster and offered to libraries , school and public.

Great idea! I'd love to make it available for libraries, similar to the iconic READ posters that I admire on the library walls.

I'm in SF where our library actually has money to spend and see if they might be interested in this. I think you could do a gofundme on Substack to pay for the posters and the mailing. Need to check first on how this could be done with school libraries and libraries in general This would make a fantastic poster for kids. I'll also check with Center for the Book where I volunteer. and they do large scale printing. https://sfcb.org/ Definitely worth pursuing. Will DM you if I get some information.

Amazing! That would be a great connection, especially since my publisher is located in SF. I'm happy to donate the art for that use. Please message or email me if you have more ideas on how to make it happen!

My wife is long time retired from the Chron as are likey her contacts there......but we're seriously close by, walking distance..

There could be another way to do this by breaking the shelves down into separate jpegs which could easily be sent out, printed and then assembled into a whole large piece.Would be a great project for kids. Would allow you or someone to contact a greater number of schools and libraries. Just a thought

Have you ever read My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry? It’s a beautiful novel about grief and regret and a journey that has sort of a blurry is-it-real-or-imaginary feel. Your drawings for this post reminded me of some of the images in the book

"Hinterland" makes me think of the long running Canadian TV nature program "Hinterland Who's Who". And "Quagmire" does the same for that sick dude from "Family Guy".

I need to watch more TV! And I'd love to take a trip to the Canadian hinterlands...

I always enjoy your art but especially when you illustrate the definitions of unusual words as they bring to life the essence of the words.

Also, because they are so unique I invariably like to track down their etymology. For example, hinter in hinterlands refers historically to the hind or rear of an area so that hind end and hinterlands are almost the same thing.

I feel this one in my bones. I’m still stuck in the hinterlands, but I have a map at least.
