Wow, how nice to read about your notebook! I too have one in which for many years I have been jotting down words I like because of their sound or the figures they create in my head, and they are often unusual words.

I look forward to read "Poetry Comics" also in Italy!

How awesome! I didn’t know many of these, and now I’m longing to use smurr and murmuration in an essay!

Yes! It's a great word for winter here in Kansas where I live, the flocks are everywhere :)

Treasure is the perfect word for this collection! The illustrations are lovely and add so much to the meaning of these words. Have you read The Lost Words: A Spell Book? Also a nice collection of beautiful illustrations paired with words that were dropped from the Oxford Junior Dictionary years ago.

Can't wait to get my hands on Poetry Comics! Thanks!!

Wonderful vocabulary words! In an age of young adult dictionaries removing words due to lack of use in YA literature, these are fantastic to see.

I am a wordnerd so your Substack topic is perfect for me. Love the comics that accompany the words. I usually highlight a word in Kindle when a new one pops out at me. You reminded me to actually go back and write them down! Thanks. Very entertaining.

Hi Grant, I love your words and work, thank you for sharing.

I was wondering if you would consider when sharing your work online, if adding underneath each word the opportunity to hear the spoken word?

A hyperlink or tab for those who love words, AND have a Neurodivergent brain that needs assistance to access the words. I know many Neurodivergent brains need visual descriptors of images also.... Just a thought for allowing as many people as possible to access and love your work.

That's a great idea, I will look into how to do that. Thank you for the message! Neurodivergence is a topic close to me as we have ADHD and autism spectrum in my household.

The necessity of art is to give voice to the emotions and motions unspoken.

Grant, what you do is not only build the bridge in a fun way, you make all of us poets and writers.
