Love this, especially as the poetry works equally well if you follow the cat (zig-zag across the page) or read the words traditionally (left to right, back to left and across again, making 3 lines).
I have no idea which you actually intended, and I don’t think it matters, as it’s fun to read, look, and follow both journeys. 🥰 The joy of comics, and the beauty of this format!
Ha, I like the multiple readings! I was writing it as the cat moving across the page, but also so they each worked individually. Love a page that's open to discover and interpretation.
What a great comic - I love all the cat behaviors - and thanks for showing a picture of the inspirational “MacDougal Alley”; you’ve done a wonderful interpretation of it!!
I’ve loved discovering your work recently. Just ordered copies of your books for work and for gifts. In my work we are promoting drawing as part of community climate resilience discussions. Really interesting to see how some adults are frightened to draw, or see it as childish.
Thank you so much, Michelle! I think it's sad when adults and kids don't feel comfortable or confident enough to draw. That's actually one of the themes of the illustrated novel in verse I'm writing. Glad you are able to use art to promote resilience!
I love your comics and sometimes use them in my poetry classes as sources of inspiration. This week, however, I wish you included something about the wider world, faced as we are with these devastating events at home and abroad. Thank you.
Thank you, Margo - most all of these were drawn a month ago or more, I've found if I give the writing and drawing some time to sit before I revise it then I can improve it before publishing. But I agree that art should address the times it's created in.
I love this intriguing little Rube Goldburgesque journey with the cat. And to see the inspiration for it made it all the more enchanting. Thank you. The painting engages with its lack of people and open windows. All the more fun to imagine what's going on behind those shades.

Brilliant inspiration. I'm new to this and am producing terrible responses to the prompts, but having fun
Glad to hear that! I feel the same way about some of my attempts this month 😁
A thorough understanding of our cats...and us. Thank you, Grant Snider.

Brilliant - I was starting a book review of "One Day" when One Life arrived - funny coincidence :)

Nine stories, plus a day to rest, catch up on a cat’s lives caught in a day. Greatest leaps into a cartoon that brigs joy to a complex world.
Simply to say I am really enjoying your poetry comics month, and that your recent book has provided the perfect solution to an Xmas gift problem 😊
Great to hear, thanks!
dear grant,
beautiful as always! thank you for this adorable and insightful cat (and more) content!
love

Brilliant and so much fun. I love the inspiration you used.
I really needed this today. Also, great use of guiding the reader/viewer through the cat's journey
Love the detail you add to this - the surprised dog, someone having soup or cereal, two people kissing.

Thanks Grant. I’m guessing you have an adventurous kitty at home.
As always…this is just lovely and inspiring.
I love it! A subtly whimsical yet introspective piece. I too am "purr-suing" a fulfilling life.
