What a nice thing to wake up to this morning. Comics? Pretty deep thoughts to be called comics!

Love this week's word choices, and I'm eager to see next week's, too.

I could not be more excited or grateful!

Small squeals' of joy over here at the addition of the option to hear the pronunciation of the words. Thank you! This option is already in use in this household!

I love the word halcyon and though I know its definition, in my weird brain it's inextricably tied to a sense of nostalgia. It feels like we can only remember the halcyon days of the past and not enjoy halcyon days in the present. It's funny how words take on their lives for each of us.

Yes! Someone posted a Calvin and Hobbes comic with the phrase "halcyon days" - talk about nostalgia...

Man, I bet that strip was probably the first time I ever encountered the word halcyon. I bet it went over my head back then!

You are one of the reasons I love Substack. I am so glad I found your work. Such originality. I love how you blend both worlds - both arts. Poetry and illustrations. 💕
