This reminds me of the Beverly Hillbillies episode where Jed asked Jethro to "cypher" the number of crawdads in a big crate, just to give him something to do. Jethro: "Them noughts, they ain't much by they-selves. But, string a bunch of 'em together, and stick a number in front. They go ta town!"
I am taking a comics course because of the door you opened to comics through poetry! I love your Zero's journey which is a spit-in-the-eye approach to narrative theory.
I was reading in Haig’s latest book (not the best…) that in ancient Egypt, the word nefer was used to represent zero, and it also meant "beautiful, pleasant, and good".
dear grant,
delightful as always!
i also like the twist that the subtitle of the ZERO's journey is a story of finding ONE's place!
thanks for sharing!

This is so sweet.
☺️ reminds me of Shel Silverstein’s great book—The Missing Piece”
One of my all-time favorites!
Love it!
Mark Graham's song "Mr Zero" is a good pairing for this little nothing. Know it?
