On Time
and how to expand it
I’m getting better at doing one thing at a time. My current writing routine: find a university library where I don’t know the wifi password, hole up in a corner, and emerge three hours later with a big chunk of work done. This comic appears in my book THINKING ABOUT THINKING, published by Abrams ComicArts. If you haven’t heard, my debut novel THE YEAR I STOPPED DRAWING will be out soon! You can pre-order it now wherever books are sold. Here’s the cover:
…I’m still proud of that perfectly crumpled piece of paper that I figured out how to fit on my scanner. And I’m glad they let me sneak in the “Cool S.”
Join me next Tuesday live on Substack for an illustrated conversation with Jason Chatfield of New York Cartoons. We’ll be discussing THE YEAR I STOPPED DRAWING and more.
As a cartoonist, podcaster, and comedian, Jason is a creative force. I’m impressed with his line quality and diverse artistic interests, which should make for a great conversation!

Thank you Grant for another message at the right time
This cartoon/encouragement just jumped out at me today - on a particularly divided, pointy, and full day (and week, as a matter of fact). It jumped into my body and shouted THIS!... IS YOU. You are not alone, you are not incapable.
Now find the most important thing on your list and DO THAT. I think I'll listen to some music while I'm at it!
