A good read. Adding implicit movement to the panels and breaking 4th walls are techniques I like using too. Hope your book sells well.

Wow, wow, wow! You certainly make language (written & visual) playful & fun - but also deep! I am aiming to be more playful with my writing, so this is incredibly inspiring. Thank you. 🧡

This is pure gold. If I was still teaching I’d be doing a happy dance now. As it is, once I’ve finished working my way through the exercises in the Lynda Barry book ‘Making Comics’ this post is bookmarked as my next project. Thank you.

Wow! This is like reading “Making Poetry Comics 101”.

I really love it! You make it look so easy that it makes me think perhaps I can make one too. Thank you so much. When I complete one, I will share it here :). Do create more brilliant comics for us to read and be inspired. Have a terrific time at the fourth wall.

I don't know how to express my love for these...maybe through a poetry comic...

These exercises really teach a lot and fit into other subjects like math, etc. Wonderful. I'm glad I discovered your page and subscribed. I want to keep this page for teaching my grandkids. I think grade school kids would love this.

Brilliant “how-to “ book of this exciting method of self expression. Now if I only had the smallest modicum of artistic ability.

Great post Grant! Can I ask... how did you embed the images in your post? I've never seen it done like you do, where you can click to open the image in a larger format. And what is the maximum file size and best file format? I've been looking for this information, but I can't find it anywhere.

Hi Conny, thanks for asking - I took screenshots of the images then pasted them into the body of the text. I believe the screen shots are .png files? When I upload jpegs it seems to be trickier. Not sure what's the right way, but glad it worked!
