I have never tried sketching my poems! I think I may be able to do it for a poem of mine called Cats. I will do it and tag you :). Thanks for this lovely article. It's making my 51 year old brain excited to try something new.

Do you ever do the emotion/sense prom with kids? I’m not sure where I found this one, but it’s magic and would work well as a comic. Make a list of emotions with the kids. Then ask them to write a poem using the senses. Here’s the form: “Anger looks like ____. Anger smells like ____. Anger sounds like ____. Anger tastes like____. Anger feels like____. Anger is _____.” I’ve done it with 3rd graders and high school kids.

That's great, especially as my next book is poetry comics on emotions. I've tried the senses prompt with grade school students and middle school students with good success!
