"I have to preserve my confidence in my work while being as critical as possible. The only trick I’ve found to make this easier: Give plenty of time and space after creating the work before taking the red pen to it." I feel this!

Ingenious! So creative! I especially enjoyed "Shake off mistakes" with the drawing of an Etch-A-Sketch! Love it! --Julie

I love the premise of your next collection 😍👏🏻 and the thoughts you share here. Editing is such an intricate, ruthless, and vulnerable process. And so necessary. It is like you say - one of the key elements truly is time!

I think the idea of revising one’s life takes such humility and courage; as is needed sometimes. Thank you for injecting this perspective into my being. You’re an encouraging force.

Yes, sometimes just walking away for a night or so, makes things look better...or the things that need changing more obvious.

Lots of revisions! And if one idea doesn't work, try the next one :)

This former/(forever?) literary editor and occasional writer absolutely agrees with every syllable here, Grant ... it can be tough not to overdo the editing, be it of our creations or of our recreating of this life as we live it! Seem to have left my disabling, stressful putrid Perfectionism in the dust by now -- and that's a kind of freedom -- to be 'good enough' -- well, good enough for now, at least. 😉

"Putrid perfectionism" is something I struggle with too! Thank you for the message!
