Last picture he/she looks so sad!! But tree- she’s just sleeping, no need to be sad. The Silton Oak in Dorset UK, is as stunning to paint when asleep as she is in full dress 🥰 i do love this set of paintings though, life story ❤️
Sooo tasty, this panoply of tree-ness, Grant! My scribble'n'sketch-prone fingers twitched as I 'leafed' through the sequence. Various forms, colours, and moods from mellow to melancholy all so playful, vibrant, and appealing -- laughed a little ruefully at the wonderful final tree, knowing that tell-tale flake won't be long in falling ... Thanks for this merry trip with its 'Let's see wot this'll do" energy!
I love the sheer variety of these illustrations - I especially like how the various marks and colours imply the wide variety of species of trees we see. The people passing through the pictures also show a lot of how we interact with (or just stop noticing) the trees in our environment.
Grant I really loved seeing how many different ways you depicted trees! How wonderful!!!💗💗💗
I would love a print of this!
So lovely. Thank you for sharing your creations, and inspiring me to get outside today.
I love the complexity of the message and the simplicity of the artwork-- not simple to create of course, but beautiful in it's minimalism.
thank you!
I LOVE this! Totally inspired now. And grateful to notes for leading me to your work.
Glad you found it as well!
A Halloween tree at St. Pancres — Hardy put grave stones from a building project around it ; spooky 😊
I like it!

A perfect example of how nature inspires us, and gives a sense of mood (good or sad) and reverence for it all...
Love it!
I would just change the sequence
💕
These are all such beautiful trees! I love the journey you take us on with these minimalist lines and colors!
