Here’s a comic from my new book, THINKING ABOUT THINKING, to be published next week by Abrams ComicArts.
It’s a privilege to be able to share my thoughts and feelings with readers across the world. Something about scribbly lines, bright colors, and not too many words makes comics about deep subjects connect.
My process is simple, really: Try to capture what’s on my mind at the moment in twelve panels or less.
Maybe it’s a question. A recurring worry. A revelation I’m absolutely certain of right now but might rethink the next time I sit down to the drawing table.
THINKING ABOUT THINKING. The title sums up what I do with every new page of Incidental Comics.
Now that it’s a proper book, I’m thrilled to hold it in my hand, carry it with me to the park, use it as a coaster for a glass of water.
To reread it and nod emphatically: Yes, that’s exactly how it is. Or to shake my head: No, that’s not how I see it at all.
To keep the conversation going between me, the page, and you—the reader I’m so thankful to share my thoughts with.
