From my book Thinking About Thinking: Impossible Thoughts and Complicated Feelings
My summer author event schedule is filling up! If you’re interested in a virtual poetry comics workshop for your school or summer writing camp, please contact me at gsnider11@gmail.com.
May 30 at Red Fern Books in Salina, KS, I’ll be in conversation with cartoonist Cedar Van Tassel for his new book Appleguy and Beefwood, published by Drawn & Quarterly. It’s hilarious and weird. I enjoyed every page.
June 6 at the School for Rural Culture in Matfield Green, KS, I’ll be reading poetry comics and hosting a workshop. They’re exhibiting a couple dozen Haiku July pieces I drew last summer. (Which reminds me: July is coming up, I need to get in haiku mode!)
I’ll be at the ALA annual conference in Chicago for my upcoming novel-in-verse The Year I Stopped Drawing. Come see me at the Abrams Fall Preview from 3-4:30 on June 27. And I’ll be signing advance copies on June 28 from 10-11.
Check out the cover of my new book, now with an incredible, unexpected blurb at the top.
Oh, and you can now pre-order it from your favorite bookstore. :)

Congratulations on your books and accomplishments!!! It’s probably not what you set out to do, but your work has become part of my mindfulness routine. It’s comforting and calming to me. Thank you!
“Capturing day’s last light in boxes” — so clever! I love that!!
