dear grant,

thank you for this!

i love "no more forcing the magic"

and this: "I don’t believe in abandoning creative projects. Sometimes they just need a few years on a remote island to “find themselves.”"

beautiful piece!

love

I'm glad you wrote that novel that isn't (yet) published - and I'm glad you're working on another story. Good things take time and in my experience, it takes a looooong time to learn the craft of anything - including storytelling. It will get there! And I love your comics. Thanks for the inspiration.

very relateable. I'm currently questioning my every single (great) trick on my books as I job hunt and try to superimpose myself over job titles that probably don't even indicate the real job.

Loved the driving metaphors. I traveled Tasmania, Australia with two friends from Perth. When I told them about SAD (seasonal affective disorder) they both laughed as they thought I was making a joke about the weather making us sad. They couldn’t comprehend, coming from one of the sunniest cities in the world, that we could develop a weather related depression!

you are hugely talented. It is inspired. Not long ago I was trying to get work - talk about forcing it...I then surrendered it to God (being Christian) which basically meant I stopped chasing, and it worked out.
