Exploring Consciousness
“Consciousness is the water we swim in.”
-Michael Pollan
A brief summary of my own consciousness:
I’m much less self-conscious than I used to be. Until I get a new haircut, that is.
My subconscious is weird. Want to hear about the dream I had last night? It’s full of violence, mystery, and romance; but the characters keep shifting and for some reason I’m back in high school and I have to play in a football game? It’s like I’m starring in a prestige TV series that’s gone off the rails.
I’m open to the idea that animals (and even plants—thanks to Michael Pollan’s new book) have forms of consciousness deeper than I can imagine.
Rarely do I experience expanded consciousness, but when I do it feels like I’m captaining an astral pirate ship on the cosmic high seas.
I’m skeptical of artificial consciousness, and I’m alternately perplexed/impressed/bewildered/angry at the rise AI technology. So I keep making comics in my imperfect, inefficient, human way.

Long live the TRUE AI -- Authentic Intelligence!
